So fantastic the layout of the Sculptures to begin with and how I was helped by a friend and Art coordinator who organised the ''Poets Corner Garden Studio'' event.
I was glad of my efforts with plinth making as they were like heavenly ''monoliths'' and were rising out of the soil like some uniformed thing that demanded attention.
odd though it was, I was glad how Anna had made great efforts with different Tulips of pink, black or purple (probably purple), and certain other featured plants....It was well laid out and enough space was made for the plinths to appear there.
It felt rustic having them there too, with the slight stains of lead from rain dripping off them and causing a rusted look.
I had two posters from Vista print and I thought on reflection it was a rather hippyish look, but also a bright idea considering it was the biggest event I would work on, after only 1 or 2 week periods at Unitarian church earlier.
Often we would reflect further on whether we had put our posters in the right place and Sam had kindly made a papier mache or some other form of materialed Cat, that on seeing his facebook site, he had made and transported all over the world, and done funny films of it.
To me, the name of the cat was ''Mau Mau - goes Hau Hau'' (Hau is almost a kitch way of saying Hi, or that is just rubbish but I am bonkers sometimes haha)..
So yes it was a delightful time and I was meeting a fellow carpenter who was of course making really quite skillful benches in a great studio to the left of the cat.
And it was also fun looking upstairs seeing Wolfram and fellow artists working on Leather, which was printed on with various images, including a yoda one. I met Gill who had made this particular belt and he was a pro at making them.
Anna kindly kept some of his wears in her studio which was furthest down beyond the drum maker and Hendons well welded bikes.
It was a place of great source, vigour and vibrancy!!
Here was our friend Wayne who was very good at making us food he made up.
He was from a South Africa and he had had a good time there, and was also very helpful with his tools that weren't any brand that was well known, but it led to interesting conversation and also was one other way of being able to realise yet again, not dissimilarly to being at hte woodstore, that certain DIY people are just as likely to come into their own, with carpentry, if they were inclined or just continue with a certain key confidence that they were doing a goodness to the generally public in more ways than one. I was glad of this...
In this picture you can see my three stone Crescent moon and stars, 3 seeds with lightning and River and Wisdom Fiery Lizard , 2 of these sold already.
Here you can see our coordinator lady, who is investigating the area and whether she has thought enough through for the whole event. But often you would marvel at what she might be planning to change yet again....She was a very thoughtful lady. And the studio on the left was a great painter of reflective paintings....
Jasmine took a great photo of me as when wandered off for a stroll and I felt really happy to be able to let go, from too many considerations at this venue, just for a moment, everyone is allowed to wonder for a while. And if you look closely you can see the Wisdom Fiery Lizard shirt that is underneath my lovely passionate red shirt, that felt just right for that occasion.
What a wonderful background too, of the world and how life is being explored in just new ways from a certain vantage and circumstance of art and how it might extend to new realms regards Welding, more practical endeavours and as I co erce myself into further realms of gaining more money if I can, to holidays ....So the map behind was almost a beckoning of being more brave and bursting with delight....
